When I started playing Clash of Clans, I was immediately hooked by its various gameplay mechanisms. One of the most intriguing aspects was devising an attack strategy. What I truly loved was when an attack wasn’t a guaranteed win, creating suspense for both me as the attacker and the defending village. That uncertainty made every raid thrilling. But now, one troop in the game has turned this strategic warfare into a predictable script.
Super Miners, introduced in 2022, have become the go-to for Clan Capital attacks due to their simplicity and devastating power. In the Clan Capital, most of the players have started using the Super Miners’ spam attack. Since this attack delivers a perfect three-star victory in just two attacks, it has begun sidelining other troops. This is the core reason for players’ frustration, calling it “mindless” and “repetitive” attacks.
And, their resentment is valid. Super Miners have ample hitpoints of 3900 and damage per second rivaling Super Wizard. As Super Miners can evade barriers such as terrain, water, or walls, and are immune to all damage when underground, players find no need to align them with other troops. Additionally, the attack becomes even lethal when defenses are slowed down with Frost Spells.
The uniqueness of any strategy lies in its adaptability and consistency. Other hybrid attacks like Super Giants and Raid carts require coordination and planning. The attacker must choose the side to start the raid, create a funnel, and use spells at the right time. Sometimes, even the troop combination itself must be altered for perfect execution. But the case of Super Miners is a different matter entirely. It’s like deploying and having popcorn for the next three minutes.
Why should Supercell rethink Super Miners?
Super Miners’ dominance stifles diversity. The Super Miner attack guarantees over 30,000 clan Capital gold. This makes it a ready choice for new clans to easily farm gold and medals and max up their bases. With the persistent spam attacks, the Clan Capital village may soon turn into “no skill, no fun”.
If a Leader or Co-Leader of a clan already knows about the incoming overpowered attack, it leaves them with little interest in defending the base. Such scenarios will discourage creative base-building, hindering one of the core aspects of Clan Capital. For instance, take a look at the given screencaptures. Even the maxed bases stand no chance against Super Miners.
Clash of Clans must move forward with some positive measures
Furnishing balance changes by nerfing Super Miners is the foremost step Supercell must take. Supercell can even reduce Super Miners’ ability to trespass any barrier. Though it should indeed overcome mountains or walls, their ability to cross water should be restricted. Following this, new buildings or traps that can impact burrowed troops like these ones could help out.
