How to use Samsung Notes app on non-Samsung PC

The Samsung Notes app is among the finest note-making apps, offering some of the best features like PDF marking, handwriting to text, and better notes organizing. However, the app is only available for Samsung PC users. But still, we can use the Samsung Notes app on any Windows PC by using Terminal and spoofing our device as a Samsung device.

Installing Samsung Notes from Microsoft Store

Though the Samsung Notes is not usable on any PC, other than Samsung, it is readily available to install from Microsoft Store. On installing, the users shall see a toast, notifying that “Samsung Notes can only be used on Samsung PCs.”

In case you don’t find Samsung Notes on the Microsoft Store, you can install it using the given command in PowerShell (Running PowerShell as an Administrator is not required).

On running the above command, you may see an additional widget, especially if you are using winget for the first time. Press Y and Enter to continue.

Installing GalaxyBook Mask

Since the app only supports Samsung PCs, we need to mimic our device as a Samsung laptop.

Install GalaxyBook Mask from GitHub. We recommend installing samsungnotes-directlaunch.bat from the GitHub page.

Run the file you just downloaded. This file will edit the registry and then restore it after the app has been launched.

Now, Open Samsung Notes, and the app should be ready to use. It is important to remember that you have to use the same Samsung account, if you wish to sync your notes.
