Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Tempestfall VR title, released in November 2021, has bad news for its players. The game will soon be delisted from all platforms – Meta, Steam, and Viveport. Starting with Steam, the game will no longer be available from 10th January 2025. As for Meta and Viveport, the delisting timeline has not yet been revealed, and the developers, Carbon Studio, will provide updates soon.
The reason for the delisting of Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Tempestfall is the expiry of the licensing agreement between the game’s developers and Warhammer (Games Workshop, the owner of the Warhammer IP).
“It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Tempestfall will be delisted from all platforms—Meta, Steam, and Viveport—as our license reaches its conclusion.“
Players who already own Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Tempestfall will still have access and be able to enjoy it on the platform of choice. Also, it is important to note that no support will be provided after delisting.
Acknowledging fans’ contribution and thanking Warhammer, developers note, “It was a privilege and an honor to collaborate with Warhammer to bring the rich and immersive world of Age of Sigmar to life. Their incredible lore and creative vision inspired us and made this game possible.“
“We understand that this news may come as a disappointment, especially to those who have spent countless hours battling through the Mortal Realms. Your support and enthusiasm for Tempestfall have meant the world to us, and we are incredibly grateful for the time you’ve spent with the game.“
Situations like this one, “As our license reaches its conclusion,” are common when a game is based on a licensed property. Game publishers and developers lose their right to sell or distribute the game until the license is renewed. In this case, Cabon Studio did not triumph in renewing the agreement, resulting in the delisting.
