Two months ago in October, Warpfrog released a major update for Blade & Sorcery: Nomad, titled “The End Update“. Though this action adventure has ended its early access with its full game release, developers have already confirmed the “highly moddable” VR game is in development.

Talking to Road to VR, the studio has documented the upcoming title, which will have “familiar hallmarks of Warpfrog games,” which include realistic physics, immersive combat, and sandbox elements. Developers asserted that it will be “highly moddable in the same way Blade & Sorcery is.”

When considering the huge commercial success of Blade & Sorcery, the modding communities have played a pivotal role. Since the game has been built on Unity and developers have a dedicated modding framework, the process of creating mods has been seamless.

This dedicated modding API enables easy inclusion of custom weapons, spells, maps, and even entirely new mechanics. You can have a look at the several Blade & Sorcery mods on Nexus, and some of them even include content from Star Wars and Naruto.

Following such incredible modding support, Warpfrog is incorporating similar and new frameworks into its next game.

As for the future of Warpfrog, this is where the fun begins. With the experience we have acquired over these past 5 years, we can’t wait to show what we are cooking next. Your support has empowered the studio to go on to develop bigger and better games,” says Warpfrog.
