On December 19, Survios dropped a surprise with its latest release of Alien: Rogue Incursion. Its initial launch for PlayStation VR and SteamVR had received positive reviews and has been well-received by VR gamers. However, at its launch for PC VR and PSVR 2, labeling it with ‘Part One’ sparked confusion among players.
Most of the players were undivided about whether the game would be released completely or in episodes. Given the different interpretations from the gaming community, developers added, “We now understand how the addition of “Part One” could be interpreted.”
Clearing the air on these unlike interpretations, Survios, on X (formally Twitter), has asserted that ‘Part One’ is a standalone adventure. The reason to label it Part One is that Survios is planning to release Part Two of this eight-hour VR title.
Survios says, “We wanted fans to know that there would be more on the horizon, so we decided to confirm Part Two alongside the launch. The entire team at Survios are fans of the Alien universe, and cannot wait to tell more stories about Zula, Davis, and others.“
The developers also confirmed that Part Two of the game is already in development. Suspecting that the game development has just started, it makes sense that the developers don’t have anything special to mention in the post.
“While we have nothing to announce about Part Two, beyond that it is actively in development, we promise to share more exciting updates at a later date.”
Also, when asked about the game optimization and bumping refresh rate and resolution, Survios answered, “We will continue working on the game now and in the future – especially when it comes to technicalities of the platforms and making sure Alien: Rogue Incursion works the best it can on those platforms.“
Alien: Rogue Incursion has been released on PlayStation VR and SteamVR, while the Meta Quest 3 version of the game will be released on February 13th.
