A Toronto-based startup is aiming to launch an ultraportable size gaming case for iPhone, boasting a tactile button with a streamlined design. The firm has deemed PocketPlay as an ultrathin controller chassis, which is even slimmer than the camera pump of the iPhone Pro series. The PocketPlay gaming case is currently available on Kickstarter as a crowdfunding project, priced at $70-80.

PocketPlay uses D-pad, A/B/X/Y, and R/L shoulder buttons machined from 6061 aluminum and type II anodized. The developing team has tested their product with various emulators like GBA, NDS, and N64, and is also effortless with native games like Minecraft and PUBG. Moreover, PocketPlay is even compatible with games on PC Remote Play like Streamlink and Console Remote Play like Xbox. Also, if any game supports a keyboard or controller, you can play it with PocketPlay.

As far as looks are concerned, PocketPlay seems to go unnoticed when stuck to the back cover of the device. Additionally, the sleek design appears to add an even more elegant look to the mobile case. The compact design enables the user to get into an immersive gaming experience by just latching the case to the device, which usually takes just five seconds.

The company has claimed that the case boasts minimal latency and the metal buttons feel like Nintendo Switch.

The PocketPlay controller case comes with a type-C USB plugin. Just insert the USB into the port, and start using pokcetPlay. Interestingly, PocketPlay requires no charging or syncing. However, this USB type-c connector could be a hindrance in playing when the device is on charge.
