Recently, a reliable Helldivers 2 data miner shared a screen capture, showcasing the underdevelopment units of Illuminate factions. However, Reddit removed content due to the copyright notice from Arrowhead Game Studio. Now, yet another leak has aired that displayed the in-game screenshot of Illuminate Tripod in Helldivers 2.
Per the IronS1ghts’ Reddit post, Arrowhead is working on including a type of Tripod Illuminate foe that shoots beams of fire from the eye. The sentinel has 3 distinct firing modes; Horizontal, Verticle, and Erratic. Destroying the eye of this Tripod will cease the beam firing.

You can have a look at the renders from the game. From OP’s information, it appears that the Illuminates are bio-mechanical in nature and the walking is quite weird. From various sources, Illuminate units are more individually potent and versatile than the Helldivers 2 bugs and bots.
The shared screenshot has left players with divided opinions. While a few have praised it for its scariness and World War furnishing vibes, a few disliked it for not fitting in their horror Eldritch side.
Even though the data has come from a reliable leaker, developers ought to work on its movements and weapons. And, in case the faction doesn’t fit the game genre, Arrowhead might negate it altogether. Therefore, it is advised to remain critical of the news.
