Microsoft is Tackling the MT Framework issue, More Capcom Games Could Hit Xbox

Microsoft is actively working with Capcom on ongoing issues with MT Framework. On resolving, many more Capcom games may hit Xbox consoles.

Various sources claim that Capcom has difficulty porting its video game titles to Xbox consoles due to compatibility and technology issues. Especially, the games using the MT Framework game engine have skipped the Xbox altogether.

Per The Two Xbox’s recent podcast, Microsoft has lost its grip over Fighting Games Communities, including Street Fighter 5. Jez Corden, The Two Xbox Podcaster, has been told that Microsoft is actively working with Capcom on ongoing issues with MT Framework. Jex also mentions the disadvantages of Microsoft and Capcom with the absence of Capcom titles on Xbox due to technology limitations.

MT (Multi-Thread) Framework is Capcom’s in-house game engine, better renowned for its high performance and better utilization of hardware resources. Popular Capcom games including the Marvel vs. Capcom series and the Monster Hunter Stories series were built on MT Framework. Interestingly, all these titles use MT Framework, and both have no Xbox presence.

Even though the podcast has highlighted the MT Framework issue on Xbox, there is no concrete evidence for the claim. Neither Microsoft nor Capcom have had their comments on this case. It is also important to note that the MT Framework could be a substance in the exclusion of some titles, but not the sole reason.

Anyway, if the rumors are true, with the active participation of Microsoft, more Capcom games may hit Xbox consoles.
