GTA 6: Don’t Expect a Massive Technological Jump, Says Rockstar Developer

"So I think yeah, so I think GTA 6 is not going to be wildly different from GTA 5. I don't know, maybe they pulled it off, maybe it's amazing."

It’s been over a decade since the GTA 6 series was released. Taking technological advancement into account, each Grand Theft Auto fan expects something next-level and unbelievable from GTA 6. Unfortunately, the Rockstar Games developer clarified GTA 6 may not be the technological jump that players are expecting so far.

Rockstar North Tech Director clarifies GTA 6 may not have drastic advancement compared to GTA 5

In an interview with Obby Vermeij, Rockstar North Tech Directory, Obby states players should not expect a great jump from GTA 5 to GTA 6. He further states, “Like, the difference between PlayStation 1 and PlayStation 2 was enormous, and PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 is not that big, right? So you don’t have that technology jump to make things different and better.”

Obby compares PS1 with PS2, San Andreas to GTA 4, and GTA 2 to GTA 3 and explains slow progress of technology has narrowed the gap between newer games. He quotes “So I think yeah, so I think GTA 6 is not going to be wildly different from GTA 5. I don’t know, maybe they pulled it off, maybe it’s amazing.”

GTA 6 Trailer 2 reveal date teased in the recent GTA Online Update

In the present scenario, GTA Online got one of the biggest updates adding a Pizza Delivery System. While going through the new update, the vehicle includes ‘OCT 4‘ on the license plate teasing an important event for Rockstar Games, probably GTA 6.

Players are speculating this easter egg as the Trailer 2 reveal date after the first trailer grossed over 200M views. As GTA 6 is confirmed to arrive in the Autumn of 2025, there is a chance that Take-Two Interactive may release another/final trailer.
