With the invention of Dr. Victor Aiza’s discovery of Grav Drive technology in Starfield, Earth witnessed the collapse of its magnetosphere and eventually became an uninhabitable wasteland. The discovery of Grav Drive technology came in the year 2138, and by the time of the year 2330, Earth bore no sign of formal flora and fauna, and almost all artificial structures had collapsed.
Fortunately, the scenario is modeled to change. Thanks to the Creation Kit for PC and Xbox, AinsyMods developed the “Earth Restored” mod that changed the barren wasteland into a Pine Forest and filled the oceans with an abundance of sea life. The mod details, “(Mod) Makes Earth habitable again by giving it back its atmosphere. Added points of interest, and changed Biomes, so Earth is no longer a barren wasteland. Lots of new fauna and flora.”
Earth is no longer just a wasteland
Ready to prosper again
Earth Restored mod aligns with its name, restoring the moniker of Earth – The Blue Planet. It gives back the Earth its atmosphere, adds flora and fauna, and even includes rare resources like Gold, Platinum, Plutonium, Neon, or Xenon.
On installing the mod, you will notice water, sky, and green land along with creatures including Terromorphs, Seabats, Leafbug Grazers, Cassowary Scavengers, Herding Fluke Filterers, and Hunting Angler Stalkers. As there are signs of life now, you will come across enemy outposts and mining facilities. With the outposts not being owned by friendly humans, players would need to be wise to fight and steal resources and enemy ships.
While the destruction of the Earth stands out to be a plot point of the Starfield story, it is interesting to see fans crafting a mod and restoring Earth to its glory days. The modding community has been very active, even before the Creation Kit. For instance, a mod allows players to create their very own SpaceStation. However, players wouldn’t be surprised to see an official DLC to populate Earth again.
It is not just the modders, but Starfield players too who engage in interesting modifications. Like, a player modified a ship that looks like Charizard Pokemon. Additionally, Bethesda officially recognizes a fan-made Serenity ship.
