After Capcom announced Monster Hunter: Wilds won’t be coming to Switch, there is yet another bad news for Nintendo Switch users. Stairway Games have recently affirmed that the Nintendo Switch Port for Coral Island may not happen any soon due to the recent layoffs and restructuring at Humble Games.
Coral Island is a farming simulator released for Xbox X/S and PS5. Its Switch port was promised back in 2021, during the Kickstarter campaign. However, it seems the obstructions have circulated in the arrangement.
Coral Island via a letter on X (formally Twitter) has confirmed that Humble Games restructuring has left the console development in uncertainty, as Humble Games is responsible for publishing on the consoles. This restructuring has placed Stairway Games in a peculiar situation where they don’t have the backend access required to push the updates to the console platforms.
Having lost the backend access, a few of the players have started doubting the port will happen. And in the open letter, developers haven’t assured their continued development on the port. Moreover, the new upcoming updates on PlayStation 5 and Xbox have been affected too.
As for Steam players, everything seems to be normal. Whether the Steam version will continue getting updates (without pushing them on consoles) is unclear.
