With nearly 700k concurrent Steam players, a simple Banana game has made its way to the #2 position in the Steam Charts just behind Counter-Strike 2. Unlike the popular games, Banana is a clicker game that unexpectedly drops more bananas and skins.
There seems no way this game could gain such reach but there’s a reason behind it. In Polygon’s interview with the developers, two-thirds of all the active users are bots causing a rapid surge in the player count.
Banana is the most popular game on PC, Banana is also the easiest game ever. Unfortunately, for some reason, almost half of the players failed to get the only 1 trophy that can be earned by clicking on a banana. Many users are waiting for Mods to make the trophy easier to achieve😂 pic.twitter.com/ajpGYzRkfn

Almost 2/3rd players are Bot, selling Banana skins for money
The discord community curates various Banana Skins. Rare the skin type, the more valuable it is. Players have found an infinite money glitch by listing these skins in exchange for real money. The average skin costs around $0.02 but some skins are sold for the hefty price of $1000.
With consumption lower than 1% of computer resources, it has become cheaper to run a Banana game for 24 hours a day to collect maximum skins, which is the major reason behind the popularity boost.
