Rockstar Games has officially announced that as of 20 February 2024, Rockstar Editor will lose its support for Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online running on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
“This change is necessary to allow us to support ongoing updates to these games on both platforms.”, Rockstar added.
The Rockstar Editor will continue support on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Rockstar Editor is a special feature for GTA V and GTA Online, allowing players to record, edit, and share in-game clips. After February 20, the tool will be removed from the platforms and all the videos and projects will be deleted permanently.
Rockstar has clarified that they are doing everything to provide services possible within the technical capacities of these old-gen consoles. GTA Online developers further added, “This update will help to ensure the stability of these platforms and keep them updated with GTA Online additions for as long as possible.”
With #GTA6 expected to launch in 2025, it’s time to back up all your old car chase vids. #rockstareditor on #GTAOnline will no longer support #PlayStation4 and #xboxone beginning on February 24, #RockstarGames announced.
