Since its release, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has found itself surrounded by criticism and is listed as the lowest-rated game in the Call of Duty series. Despite the backlashes, Sledgehammer Games and Activision have announced the record-breaking engagement rate by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Call of Duty has announced the news via X (formally Twitter), where they revealed that Modern Warfare 3 has crossed the highest gameplay hours per player. Further, it added, that Modern Warfare 3: Zombie mode is the most engaging third mode, and Campaign players are putting in more time per player in MW3 than in MW2 or MW.
However, the actual record and record-breaking number have not been revealed yet.

Given that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is still a best-selling title, topping the social charts, why so many negative reviews? Modern Warfare 3 has just a score of 56 on Metacritic, with a user score marking “Overwhelming Dislike”.
The reporter at Forbes reported, that most reviews came in the early phase of the game, where the short campaign and MWII DLC carrying were the center of review. Now that Season 1 has added 4 new multiplayer maps, the game is indeed showing a positive response from the gamers.
In this context, insider-gaming’s Grant Taylor-Hill asks, “Did everyone just review it too soon? Is Modern Warfare 3 actually worth so much more than its Metascore of 56?”. And now the Sledgehammer Games confirmed it as the most engaging game, this statement does make sense.
